Barbara (Bobby) Florine Rupp

-

Resident of San Jose

Bobby passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Valley Medical Center Hospital in San Jose, California, surrounded by close friends.

Bobby was born November 2, 1928 in San Francisco, California to the late Charles Phillip Rupp of New York City, New York and Clara Barbara Gibert of St. Louis, Missouri. Bobby grew up in Berkeley, California with her parents. She had fond memories of Stinson beach and Hollywood, where her father took her on some of his business trips, as he was a CPA to some of the biggest studios of that era.

Bobby attended High School in St. Louis, Missouri, and went to college to study music at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Bobby then moved back to California. She lived in several places throughout the Bay Area, including the Stanford Campus, San Mateo, Sunnyvale, and lastly in San Jose.

For over forty years Bobby proudly worked for Stanford University and SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) National Accelerator Laboratory where she was in the Library at both Institutions.

Music was a huge part of Bobby’s life. She loved Organ music. Bobby took Organ lessons and sang in the SVPC Chancel Choir for many years.

Bobby is survived by many good friends as she considered them all a part of her family. In addition to lifelong friendships, Bobby made friends with all that came her way, whether it was a co-worker, neighbor, doctor, dentist, residence staff, or caregiver; she was truly loved by all. We will miss the knowledge, kindness, memories, and spunk she had until the last breath.

There will be a celebration of life for Barbara on her birthday, Friday November 2, 2018, at 10 am at the Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church 728 West Fremont Ave. Sunnyvale, CA 94087. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Brookdale Appreciation Fund Brookdale Senior Living, 1009 Blossom River Way, San Jose, CA 95123.
