Chuck was born in Rochester, New York, the grandson of Sicilian immigrants. His family moved to the San Fernando Valley in California where he excelled in high school sports and played college football. After college he enlisted in the National Guard and was called up to active Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Fortunatel­y the conflict ended before he was ever deployed and he went back to serving in the National Guard.

Chuck’s career pursuits ranged from Hollywood acting to corporate executive of sales for Butterick and Vogue, covering all the Canadian territorie­s. His career spread into electronic­s in Silicon Valley, becoming vice president of sales for Indek Corporatio­n across the entire United States.

He retired to Pollock Pines, California where he joined the Lions Club, serving as President and Vice President several times over the years. His last move took him to Corvallis, Oregon where unexpected ill health took his life. He is survived by his wife Nancy; and blended family of six children and their families; Michael Granata, Charlene Ducote, Donna Granata, Elaine Saulter, Patricia Flatt, and Lance Allred.
