No. 2 Liberty beat Heritage 49-0 to capture the Bay Valley Athletic League title outright and complete its first undefeated regular season since 1969. Sione Vaki, Tyerell SturgesCof­er and Adrik Lamar all had touchdowns in the first quarter for the Lions (10-0, 5-0), who will likely receive the No. 2 seed for the North Coast Section’s Open Division playoffs behind De La Salle. In 1969, the Lions finished the season with a 7-0-2 record. Liberty also went 9-0 in 1965. Heritage finishes the season 1-9 overall and 0-5 in league . ... Quarterbac­k Moe Flynn’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Ford with 8:19 left in the fourth quarter capped No. 10 Bishop O’Dowd’s 21-6 win over host Encinal, as the Dragons clinched its third straight outright West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division title. Senior Austin Jones had 134 yards on 18 carries for Bishop O’Dowd (8-2, 5-0). The loss was the first of the season at home for Encinal (7-3, 3-2). ... No. 17 McClymonds stretched its shutout streak in Oakland Athletic League play to four games with a 62-0 win over Oakland as it tuned up for a first place showdown next week against Oakland Tech. The Warriors (7-2, 4-0) have won their four league games this season by a combined score of 281-0. Oakland (4-5, 2-2) hosts Skyline next week . ... No. 19 Moreau Catholic beat Newark Memorial 62-0, earning its fifth straight shutout to improve to 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the Mission Valley Athletic. Running back Fresh Ison scored TDs of 85, 50 and 65 yards in limited duty as Newark (3-7, 3-3) trailed 21-0 after the first quarter. Moreau is expected to be the No. 1 seed for the NCS Division IV playoffs . ... No. 21 Granada scored 21 points in the third quarter to beat rival Livermore 41-21 and clinch an outright East Bay Athletic League Valley Division title. The Matadors (8-2, 4-0 EBAL Valley) are hoping for one of the top four seeds in Division II. Livermore (4-6, 2-2), also a Division II team, could be seeded anywhere from ninth to 12th.

South Bay/Peninsula

Opeti Fangupo’s two rushing touchdowns in the third quarter helped seal a 28-7 win for No. 4 St. Francis over Archbishop Mitty, as the Lancers clinched at least a share of the West Catholic Athletic League title. The Lancers (8-2, 6-0) play at Serra next Saturday. Mitty (4-5, 2-4) plays Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday . ... No. 7 Menlo-Atherton topped Half Moon Bay 24-7 as it clinched the Peninsula Athletic League’s Bay Division title outright for the second time in three years Deston Hawkins, Troy Franklin and JD Carson all had touchdowns for the Bears (7-2, 5-0), who play Woodside next week. Menlo-Atherton has outscored its five league opponents so far 167-15 . ... Isaiah McElvane rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown in 12 carries as No. 8 Valley Christian beat Bellarmine 35-0 to stay alive in the WCAL title race. D’Von Lang had 85 yards and a touchdown in nine carries for Valley Christian (7-2, 5-1). Bellarmine (2-7, 1-5) plays at St. Ignatius next week . ... Malakai Rango ran for 152 yards and three touchdowns in just five carries as No. 13 Serra beat Sacred Heart Cathedral 42-0 to keep its WCAL title hopes alive. If Serra (6-3, 5-1) wins at home Saturday against firstplace St. Francis, the Padres will share the title with St. Francis and Valley Christian, assuming Valley beats Riordan next week. SHC fell to 5-4, 3-3 . ... No. 23 Sacred Heart Prep (8-1, 3-1 PAL Bay) bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 40-28 victory at Terra Nova (7-2, 2-2), a win that figures to have implicatio­ns in the CCS Open Division III bracket. SHP sophomore Raymond Price III threw for a TD and ran for another pair in the second half.
