Ronald “Ronnie” Ginger

-

Resident of Santa Nella

Ronald “Ronnie” Ginger passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday morning, October 24, 2018. He bravely battled complications following surgery for esophageal cancer for 5-1/2 months. He was our champion, “the miracle man” as they named him at the VA in Palo Alto, CA.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his loving parents Manuel and Adeline “Dolly” Ginger, his brothers William, David and Joseph Ginger.

He is survived by his beloved Colleen Mason, son Michael, grandsons Chance, Hunter, Titan, Gage and Liam, sister Juliette Ginger (Ken) Eke, sister-in-law Eldita (Joseph) Ginger. Ron has many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he loved dearly.

Ronnie was born and raised in Santa Clara. He loved playing football for Santa Clara High School and would often recall stories of those fond memories. He loved trips to Half Moon Bay with family and fishing and camping. He cherished his childhood. Ronnie had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed his hot rods at car shows every summer. It was always an enjoyable family event.

His son Michael was his heart from the day he was born. Known as “Poppy” to his five grandsons, Ronnie was a devoted Grandpa to his boys. He loved spending time with them and watching them play sports. He would always leave them knowing they were loved and well fed.

Ronnie had the biggest heart and smile. His sense of humor and laugh were infectious. He always wanted to be first to arrive at a social event and the last to leave. Ronnie so loved his family and friends.

He will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will follow the services.
