Grand opening at Gala in Davis
The New Home Company has announced the opening of Gala, the final collection of for-sale residences at The Cannery, California’s awardwinning new-home community in Davis. Highlighted by singlelevel layouts with semiprivate elevator access, Gala suits a variety of lifestyles from young couples and local professionals to empty nesters looking for a turnkey, low-maintenance home in a vibrant setting. A grand opening and debut of model homes is set for this Saturday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Built by New Home and designed by Robert Hidey Architects, Gala offers a variety of floor plans ranging from 1,191 square feet to 1,995 square feet with two to three bedrooms and two to two-and-a-half bathrooms. Each residence features a private deck and offers direct access to a ground-floor garage. Gala is situated in two of the most desirable areas of The Cannery with 48 of the flats set within the southwestern part of the community along The Cannery Loop Trail. The remaining residences are found in the southern part of The Cannery, near The Amphitheatre and Market Park. Gala’s pre-opening sales campaign has already secured 26 homebuyers to date. Prices at Gala begin in the mid-$400,000 range.
“Gala represents the final chapter of what has been an incredible story for us at The Cannery, a community that has earned international media attention and top homebuilding industry awards for its thoughtful land plan and mix of residential offerings,” said Kevin Carson, Northern California president for New Home. “From a design and price standpoint, there is nothing else like Gala in Davis and this is a product type that the market has been waiting for. We could not be more pleased with the initial sales success at Gala and expect it to continue after our highly anticipated grand opening.”
Since opening in the summer of 2015, more than 300 of the planned 457 for-sale residences have been sold at The Cannery. Four of the original neighborhoods — Heirloom by New Home, Persimmon by Shea Homes, Beech by CalAtlantic Homes and Sage by New Home — are sold out. Tilton by Shea Homes will soon release its final phase of Cottages that showcase up to five bedrooms and three bathrooms, ranging from 1,706 square feet to 3,024 square feet. Tilton is priced from the mid-$800,000 range.
