Beloved son, brother, husband, father, Papa, and dear friend, John Kuzia entered into rest on November 7th in Pleasanton, California. He passed suddenly but peacefully in his own home. John was 61 years of age.

John Frick Kuzia was born on August 8, 1957 in Palo Alto, California to parents Jack and Patricia Kuzia. The Kuzia family also included John’s older sister, Kathy (deceased). John grew up in Palo Alto and graduated Cubberly High School in 1975. He went on to attend Chico State University, graduating in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineerin­g. It was during his time at Chico that John met his future wife, Linda Benson.

John and Linda were married on September 5, 1981 in Coronado, California. They made their home in San Jose, California, eventually moving to Pleasanton, California in 2007. John and Linda raised three children together and have six grandchild­ren.

John went to work for MacKay & Somps Civil Engineerin­g. He worked there for 42 years and was currently working there when he passed.

John lost his wife, Linda in April 2015 after complicati­ons of a heart surgery. John was Linda’s strongest advocate and was by her side during the intense last months of her life. They were married 34 years.

John is survived by father Jack Kuzia of San Jose; son Jason Kuzia (wife Tawnya) of Morgan Hill, daughter Kristen Fries (husband Michael) of Oregon, daughter Megan Primrose (husband Nathan) of Morgan Hill; grandchild­ren Jazara and Jerocco Kuzia, Zander and Lana Fries, Benjamin and Riley Primrose. John is predecease­d by his mother, Patricia Kuzia, sister, Katherine Kuzia, and wife Linda Benson Kuzia.

The family would like to thank all who have reached out with love, prayers, and kindness during this very difficult time.
