TAMPA, FLA. >> Reuben Foster, the 49ers linebacker who had domestic violence charges dismissed against him earlier this year, got arrested Saturday night in Florida at the team hotel on a similar charge.

Foster was arrested at 9:11 p.m. EST at the team hotel, the Grand Hyatt, which is located about five miles from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, where the 49ers will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today.

Foster was booked into Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Orient Road jail on the other side of downtown at 11:11 p.m.

The 49ers didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

This is not Foster’s first runin with the law since joining the 49ers last year. He was arrested twice last offseason, including on charges of felony domestic violence that were eventually dropped when a judge ruled there was no probable cause after the accuser recanted and there was no other evidence.

Foster, a 2017 first-round draft pick out of Alabama, was suspended for the first two games of the season because of the arrests. He missed the 49ers’ past two games because of a hamstring injury and was questionable to play against the Buccaneers after practicing in limited fashion this past week.

GOODWIN GOES HOME >> Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is doubtful to play today against the Buccaneers after leaving the 49ers to tend to a private matter.

Goodwin flew to Tampa, Florida, with the team Friday before being excused to fly back out of town. A team source indicated his exodus was not of a disciplinary nature, and he also was excused from Monday’s practice for personal reasons.

The 49ers (2-8) will face the Bucs (3-7) without their other starting wide receiver, Pierre Garçon, whose knee injury sidelined him for two of the previous three games.

Nick Mullens will be making his third start as the 49ers quarterback and his first on the road. Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne are the projected starting wide receivers in place of Goodwin and Garçon at split end and flanker, respectively. Goodwin has 17 receptions for 339 yards and four touchdowns in eight games this season. Officially downgraded Niners wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is doubtful for today’s game against the Buccaneers to tend to a personal matter.

to doubtful, the 49ers did not rule him out in case he returns for the game.

Last year, on Nov. 12, Goodwin emotionally led the 49ers to their first win of the season mere hours after his wife, Morgan, lost their infant son to pregnancy complications.

Rather than promote wide receiver Steven Dunbar Jr. from the practice squad to help fill Goodwin’s void, the 49ers elevated Jeff Wilson Jr. to their now four-man running back corps that also includes Matt Breida, Alfred Morris and Matt Dayes.

Quarterback Tom Savage was released in a corresponding roster move. He was inactive last game while C.J. Beathard remains Mullens’ backup.

Mullens can become the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for at least 250 yards and a touchdown in his first three career games.

He hasn’t been sacked in either of his starts, and he’s looked poised in the pocket as he goes through his progressions.

The Bucs, who have only one interception all season, rank 28th in pass defense (282.3 yards per game). But Tampa’s offense leads the league in at 485.5 yards per game, amassing 500 yards in four of their past six games.
