New-home builders offering holiday gifts

- By Cameron Sullivan

After cooking for a few days, eating all day on Thanksgiving and perhaps even risking bodily injury on Black Friday before collapsing with leftovers, it’s time to dream about how next year’s holidays will look in a brand-new home. Fantasize deeply enough and you may even convince yourself to simplify this year’s shopping list to just one item — a new house.

Understandably, buying a brand-new house may not be everyone’s idea of “simple” holiday

shopping. But it’s not as ridiculous as it sounds. Anyone considering purchasing a new home in the foreseeable future can take advantage of some pretty sweet holiday deals that builders are offering right now.

In fact, as 2018 winds to a close, builders make the process of turning new-home dreams into holiday realities a lot easier. Your financial planner or accountant may even advise you to buy sooner rather than later, given the expected increase in interest rates next year.

So, before removing the tags from your Black Friday steals, spend some time touring model homes and talking to the associates at new-home communities.

“The holidays are the perfect time to find your new home; a place where you can make memories for years to come with those who matter most — your friends and your family,” said Megan Gore, director of sales and marketing for Northern California-based Anthem United Homes.

“Anthem United is excited to offer a promotion for new homebuyers from now until the end of the year,” added Gore. “With the purchase of a new Anthem United home, we’re throwing in a complimentary washer and dryer or refrigerator — the essentials to kick off a great holiday season. Each of our thoughtfully designed communities has unique features.”

Meanwhile, the Fall Savings promotion for Kiper Homes ends Nov.

30. “Many builders are closing out inventory, just like retailers,” said Linda Hebert, sales and marketing consultant for Alamo-based Kiper Homes, which has Northern California communities in Lathrop and Discovery Bay. “Buyers can find the best ‘deals’ on quickclose homes, preferably those that close before year-end.”

For those considering the greater Sacramento area, whether first-time homebuyers or moveup buyers, Lennar has cut prices on some of its quick-move-in homes in communities such as Serrano and The Ridge at Blackstone, both in El Dorado Hills, among others.

Lennar’s Home for the Holidays promotion includes discounts of up to $40,000 on select
