East Bay Agency for Children

“Being named a Top Workplace provides concrete evidence that the East Bay Agency for Children staff value the organization, their peers and our mission. Management and human resources do not have to speculate on the efficacy of policies and activities to foster a healthy and thriving organizational climate. The positive results of the Top Workplace surveys demonstrate success and deep staff engagement.

“Because East Bay Agency for Children is a nonprofit, the Top Workplace designation improves our reputation with donors and stakeholders and in the broader community, enabling us to garner greater support for the children and families we serve. The Top Workplace award is a significant advantage in advancing our mission.”

Seneca Family of Agencies

“During the recruitment process, prospective employees do notice this award and have even mentioned it during their individual and group interviews. This award gives us validity in the work we do as it speaks directly to the employee experience. Not only is it a reflection of what we strive to be, but it describes our culture in our employees’ own words.

“We asked our employees, ‘What does it mean to you to be ranked as a Top Workplace?’ These are their real, unedited responses”:

“It is important for me to work at a place that values and respects my work and personal life. Since being at Seneca, I have experienced trust, flexibility, autonomy, passion for the cause from the top down and a genuinely caring environment.” — Bilingual Family Development Specialist

“I am proud of the work that we do here, and our commitment to excellence on behalf of the incredible and resilient clients and families we serve. What began as my first job out of grad school has become my career. I hope that our agency’s recognition with this award helps us continue to recruit the brightest and most passionate staff, so that we can continue working for real and lasting change, both in individuals and in systems.” — Clinical Director

“Seeing Seneca receive recognition as a Top Workplace validates my belief that there is something very special about the way Seneca values its staff as much as the work they do. We have a mission of providing unconditional care to our youth and I have seen the same standard extended to our workforce time and time again.” — Program Assistant

“I feel a huge sense of pride and honor to work for an agency that not only truly cares about the communities they serve, but who truly cares for their employees. For Seneca to be recognized means that we take the time and energy to understand the complexities of what it means to keep sincerity, compassion, and motivation alive.” — Development Assistant

“Being named as a Bay Area Top Workplace benefits Seneca Family of Agencies (Seneca) in many ways. First and foremost, it helps us improve as an agency. Through these surveys, we receive great feedback from our employees about what is working, and how we can improve to better meet the needs of not only our employees, but also the youth and families we serve. This award is an embodiment of our commitment to transparency. It is also important for our county and community partners. It shows our commitment to providing a good workplace environment for our employees, and providing the best services we can for our children and families.

“From a donor perspective, being named as a Bay Area Top Workplace allows for immediate trust in our organization. It’s like someone else has done a massive due diligence campaign and posted it for the public to see. It lends credibility and legitimacy to the work we are doing as it shows our internal and external values are

aligned. We are an organization that is committed to providing the highest quality of service for our clients, and we do so by providing unconditional support to our employees, and always creating room for feedback so that we may learn, grow and be the best agency we can be.”
