Suspects sought in armed robbery of San Jose market
SAN JOSE » Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men suspected of robbing a San Jose market at gunpoint last month.
The robbery occurred at the Shan Market, 1250 E. Julian St., about 10:13 p.m. on Jan. 25, according to San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia. The suspects, one of whom was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun, demanded money and two bottles of liquor.
Garcia said the suspects fled from the market with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect with the gun was described as Latino, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black North Face windbreaker with a hood, blue jeans and black shoes.
The second suspect was described as Latino, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and 140 to 160 pounds. He also had a thin mustache; was carrying a bag with black, red, yellow and green stripes; and was last seen wearing a red hat, a black windbreaker with a hood, blue jeans with a black and white stripe on the side and black shoes.
Police on Tuesday released surveillance images and video of the suspects in the hope someone might recognize them.
