Frosene on the gaming scene
HOT AUGUST NIGHTS. For the 33rd time, the Biggest Little City in the World welcomes over 6,000 vehicles for its annual Hot August Nights (HAN). The treasured celebration showcases premiere classic cars welcoming thousands of visitors and car participants to Northern Nevada. Festivities kick-off on Friday and Saturday Aug. 2-3, in the historic mining community of Virginia City, Nevada, and then head to Reno and Sparks, for more events and fun from Saturday evening through Sunday, Aug 11. Since 1986, the festival has been celebrating nostalgia, rock n’ roll, and cars, cars, cars, and more cars. Free nightly concerts, once again, promise to take guests on a nostalgic ride. Additionally, fans can enjoy The Garage, a preferred seating experience for guests 21-years and older at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino’s outdoor stage. Attendees can enjoy VIP treatment while singing along with Turn the Page — a Tribute to Bob Segaer and The Silver Bullet band (Aug. 6), and Pablo Cruise (Aug. 7) followed by Little River Band (Aug. 8), the legendary Temptations (Aug. 9), and KC and The Sunshine Band (Aug. 10). Over at The Nugget Casino’s new amphitheater, The Nugget Event Center, the live entertainment continues with the Greg Golden Band (Aug. 7), the 7-piece Mumbo Gumbo band (Aug. 8), former lead guitarist of The Eagles, Don Felder (Aug. 9) and the great Chubby Checker (Aug. 10). With close to 300 events in store including drag races, controlled cruises, and more, you can count
on something for everyone. For more details and the complete event schedule, call 775-356-1956 or visit HotAugustNights.net.
