Week’s concerts: Madonna and more
Here’s a look at some of the top concert offerings hapArea pening in the Bay for the week, highlighted by the return of one of pop music’s greatest icons.
Madonna: Local fans were starting to get worried that maybe Madonna wouldn’t bring her Madame X Tour to the Bay Area. Thankfully, she finally got around to adding San Francisco dates to the itinerary.
She performs a three-night stand, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, at the lovely Golden Gate Theatre. And what a treat it should be to see this first-tier pop music icon — who usually plays big sports arenas — put on a show in such a comparably intimate venue.

Twenty One Pilots: The alt-rock-rap duo, consisting of vocalist Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun, is out on the road in support of “Trench,” the follow-up to the 2015worldwide blockbuster “Blurryface.”
Having headlined the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco in August, Twenty One Pilots now return to Northern California to perform Sunday at Golden 1Center in Sacramento. MisterWives are also on the bill.

Lucinda Williams: The incredible singersongwriter-guitarist and her band Buick 6 celebrate the 20th anniversary of 1998’s splendid “Car Wheels on a Gravel Road” on Saturday at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Williams and company will be performing that Grammy-winning album in its entirety, plus other material.

Amendola vs. Blades vs. Skerik vs. Baptista vs. Parker: Drummer Scott Amendola, HamBlades, mond B-3star Wil saxophonist Skerik, guitarist Jeff Parker and percussionist Cyro Baptista face off twice nightly, today through Sunday, at SFJazz Center in San Francisco.

Last Dinosaurs: The cool Australian indie-rock act visits the Fillmore in San Francisco on Saturday in support of last year’s “Yumeno Garden.” Michigander and Born Ruffians are also on the bill.
