Week’s concerts: Railroad Earth, K-pop stars

- — Jim Harrington, Staff

Here’s a look at the top concerts of the week, highlighted by the return of a popular jam band and a rising K-pop act. Railroad Earth: A favorite of jam-band fans, Railroad Earth steams back to the Fillmore in San Francisco for two shows, Friday and Saturday. The New Jersey act, which combines elements of bluegrass, rock and other genres in its music, is supporting its latest release, “The John Denver Letters,” an album inspired by the discovery of a trove of unused John Denver lyrics that Railroad Earth set to music. Details: 8 p.m.; $29.50; livenation.com. Seventeen: The 13-member K-pop juggernaut is supporting its third studio album, “An Ode,” with an eight-city North American tour that includes a stop on Tuesday at the SAP Center in San Jose. Details: 7:30 p.m.; $55-$175; ticketmaster.com. Rex Orange County: The much-buzzed-about indie-pop artist — whose real name is Alexander O’Connor and who actually hails from England, not Orange County — visits the Masonic in San Francisco tonight and the Fox Theater in Oakland on Friday. Details: 8 p.m.; $44.12; livenation.com (Masonic), ticketmaster.com (Fox). Theo Katzman: The funk-rock-pop artist, who is best known for his work as a member of Vulfpeck, visits the Fillmore in San Francisco on Sunday. Rett Madison opens the show. Details: 8p.m.; $25; livenation.com. Elbow: The cool English rock act, led by the charismatic Guy Garvey, performs Monday at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Jesca Hoop is also on the bill. Details: 8 p.m.; $39.50; ticketmaster.com.
