California’s top 10 swanky hotels

- — Jessica Yadegaran, Staff

Planning an extra-special trip to Southern California? You may want to consult U.S. News & World Report’s 2020list of the best 25hotels in the state. Much like last year’s list, the majority of glitzy accommodations in the top 10are located in Orange County, Beverly Hills and San Diego. At Rancho Santa Fe’s Rancho Valencia Hotel & Spa, which took the No. 1 spot for the second year in a row, the resort’s epigenetics experts will massage and detox you to wellness for $1,500a night (three-night minimum). And at the Montage Beverly Hills (No. 3), you can get an oxygen facial using white truffles to fade existing sun and age spots. Price for the facial: $1,100.

In case you’re looking to staycation, three beloved Northern California hotels — Meadowood Napa Valley, The Ritz-carlton San Francisco and The Ritz-carlton Lake Tahoe — also cracked the top 10. Better start saving, though. All the resorts in the top 10fetch at least $500a night. And if anyone has face truffles, you know it’s Meadowood. Here is U.S. News & World Report’s list of the top 10swanky hotels in California. To see the full list of 25, go to travel.usnews. com.
