It all started with a small group of like-minded cannabis enthusiasts getting together to address what we felt was missing in the cannabis market. • How can we provide the most potent, complete cannabis experience to our neighbors?
Let’s start from the top: What is the purpose of cannabis extract? – To aquire the most comprehensive profile the plant has to offer, in the most concentrated form possible, and filtering out any components that aren’t an integral piece of the desired experience provided by that strain.
• How does Woodland Wax Company do this? - We source our cannabis locally to maintain consistent communication and ensure the product we will be concentrating meets all our cleanliness, potency, and profile requirements, and is grown to a standard we can stand behind. Next we take that material, either fresh frozen or dry cured cannabis flower,
and store it in a manner that preserves the terpene profile and THC content. This means controlling the storage temperature and preventing oxidation by keeping it frozen under vacuum. Our extraction artists process the material in -40* temperatures to get the cleanest product possible, pulling off undesired waxes and fats inherent in the plant. This then goes to a slow purging process to remove the solvent ratio used in the extraction. Without losing any of the precious terpenes, It retains the full spectrum ‘high’ and complete flavor profile providing the complete and unique experience that our neighbors deserve. The extract is then put through one of our post processing procedures to result in one of the many consistencies of extracts that Woodland Wax Company provides!
• What ways can we directly impact our local community and showcase all the great things it has to offer?
It starts with solid relationships with our local cultivators, and business partners here at home. Woodland Wax Company supports local farmers by sourcing over 80% of our cannabis from local growers here in Yolo County. Most all of our apparel and SWAG are locally sourced rather then made overseas. Directly involved in local politics, our motive is to help educate our neighbors and promote a positive and safe cannabis culture for consumers and businesses alike. We are active in supporting the “Women in Cannabis” movement, trying to even out a male dominated industry, with most of our upper management being incredibly talented women! Supporting local business and bettering the community is our way of life!
• How do we educate consumers, so they understand how to access what they actually want without needless markups?
Here at Woodland Wax Co, we take education and training very seriously, especially when it comes to cannabis. It’s imperative to educate consumers who are unfamiliar with extracts, or cannabis itself, with the many different forms that can be made from the cannabis plant. We only have so much reach ourselves in how many people we can educate, so how do we help teach more people? The answer -Providing candid and informative bud-tender education, as well as offering them tours of our extraction facility where we showcase “how it’s made” teaching the science behind what makes all our concentrates so unique. This allows budtenders to be more of an educator and consultant, as opposed to being “the plug”, and just pushing whatever brand they like or want to sell you on. When you are talking to a well-informed budtender, they can be confident in showing you the right cannabis extracts, and consulting with medical or recreational patients about their needs. Even more, you’re cutting out all the misinformation -getting pointed directly toward your desired product and experience! This saves you from spending too much money on similar or less quality products from brands charging you for expensive marketing campaigns and fancy packaging, rather than passing possible savings on to you.
