Pro Bowl earns trip to new stadium in Las Vegas

The Pro Bowl is following the Raiders to Las Vegas.

The NFL’s annual all-star game will be played at Allegiant Stadium on Jan. 31, 2021, a week before Super Bowl LV.

The week preceding the game will feature activities such as NFL flag championsh­ip games, AFC and NFC team practices and a skills showdown.

Las Vegas was supposed to host the NFL draft this season, but it the plan changed after the COVID-19 pandemic, making it a virtual event done with telecommun­ications.

Anyone wondering how cozy the NFL has gotten with the gambling culture take note of the following sentence in the league release: “Caesars Entertainm­ent, the NFL’s Official Casino Sponsor, will use its casino properties for fan experience­s during the 2021 Pro Bowl.”

The Pro Bowl has been played in Orlando, Florida, for the past four seasons and in previous years in Honolulu and occasional­ly in Arizona.

REIGNING NFL MVP JACKSON WILL APPEAR ON MADDEN 21 COVER >> Madden ‘21 revealed its cover design and a 90-second trailer for its latest NFL title with league MVP Lamar Jackson front and center.

The game is scheduled to be released on Aug. 25. Those with EA Access and Origin Access can download the game as of Aug. 22.

Madden 21 is the latest version of the NFL video game franchise launched in 1988.

GIANTS KICKER ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF HIT-AND-RUN CRASH >> Alcohol is suspected in a hit-and-run crash that led to the arrest of New York Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas in Chico, authoritie­s said.

Rosas, 25, allegedly failed to stop for a red light and plowed his Chevrolet SUV into the side of a pickup truck Monday in the city of Chico, the California Highway Patrol said. Rosas kept driving and then walked away from the SUV when it broke down, the CHP said in a statement. He was arrested a short time later on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license.

EAGLES’ BROOKS OUT FOR SEASON >> Philadelph­ia Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks took to Twitter to confirm that he tore his left Achilles tendon, an injury that will sideline the Pro Bowl performer for the upcoming season.

Brooks previously tore his right Achilles in 2018.
