Quarantine creativity
If you can’t get out to the ballpark during this wretched coronavirus pandemic, at least you can build one on your dining table.
That apparently was the thinking of Kavin Mistry, a Cupertino resident who decided to use some of his quarantine downtime to construct a model of Oracle Park — completely out of Lego bricks.
Mistry showed off the finished product via his Twitter feed this week and it’s quite impressive. There’s even a little blue Mccovey Cove. (We can almost smell the garlic fries.)
Mistry, a San Jose State graduate, is a photographer, graphic designer and a huge sports fan whose father has been a Giants season ticket holder since the team’s downtown yard opened in 2000.
“I created it just for fun,” he tells us. “I wanted to be an architect when I was a kid and I have always loved designing and Legos. I used to make all kinds of stadiums when I was younger, but now that we have been in quarantine, I have found that passion for them again.” Apparently, there are no plans to find a permanent home for the display. Mistry says, “Once I come up with my next stadium idea I will take it down and build another one.”
