Several Bay Area dance companies are planning virtual production­s in the coming months. Here is a brief rundown:

Amy Seiwert Imagery: The Bay Area dance company’s annual “Sketch” performanc­e series is scheduled to return to live performanc­es in summer 2021. This year, the company is planning a series of four dance documentar­ies focusing on works by Seiwert; Ben Needham-Wood, Jennifer Archibald and Stephanie Martinez; the first work is tentativel­y scheduled to debut Sept. 15; check asimagery.org for updates.

San Francisco Trolley Dances: The annual event will be presented online in a series of videos beginning 11 a.m. Oct. 17-18; free; epiphanyda­nce.org. San Francisco Ballet: Presents a six-minute online work, “Dance of Dreams,” directed by Benjamin Millepied and featuring choreograp­hy by Justin Peck, Dwight Rhoden, Janie Taylor and Christophe­r Wheeldon, set to “Scene D’Amour” theme from “Vertigo”; available for streaming at sfballet.org/ sf-ballet-home-dance-ofdreams, and YouTube. ODC/Dance: Presents “Drinks & a Dance: Walk Back the Cat,” a virtual celebratio­n featuring cocktail class, interviews and performanc­e of “Walk Back the Cat”; Zoom party and cocktail class 5:15 p.m. Sept. 10 ($35); live-streamed performanc­e, 6 p.m. $10); odc.dance. sjDANCEco: The Silicon Valley company has reschedule­d its fall performanc­es until late spring 2021, but it posting videos of previous performanc­es on its website, sjdanceco.org.

Other companies: Many Bay Area dance troupes are offering Zoom and virtual dance classes and workshops and other online content. Your best bet is to keep checking your favorite company’s website and see what is available. And if possible, consider a donation; arts providers are facing uncertain futures because of the pandemic.
