Tripadvisor’s 10 best U.S. beaches, from Florida to Hawaii
The pandemic may have brought the travel world to a shuddering halt, but Tripadvisor’s Travelers Choice Awards continue, reflecting its readers’ opinions of the best hotels, airlines and destinations over the past year. We can’t stop looking at the best U.S. beaches list.
Of course, most of the list features beaches in Florida and Hawaii — which might as well be Mars, as far as we travel-restricted Californians are concerned. (We’ve looked in vain for that Tripadvisor page, by the way, hoping to read reviews of the beach bar at the Four Seasons Mars. We’ll bet the Martian mixologists shake up Cosmospolitans and Mars Tais on the rocks. Red rocks.)
But if you’re into dreaming about real beaches, the sea-lapped strands on the 2020 Travelers Choice Awards list are the stuff of fantasy, from the endless white sands of Florida’s Siesta Beach on Siesta Key (No. 1) to the fluffy powder of Florida’s St. Pete Beach (No. 2) and the tropical paradise of Maui’s Ka’anapali Beach (No. 3).
California has two beaches on the top 25: Asilomar State Beach in Pacific Grove came in at No. 22 and San Diego’s Coronado Beach at No. 25.
