HOLLISTER >> A police officer shot and injured a man early Tuesday at a home in Hollister, authorities said.

The man was in stable condition at a hospital, the Hollister Police Department said in a news release.

Officers were called to the residence on Kimberly Court at 7:30 a.m. for a report of a family member who was possibly violent and had access to kitchen knives, police said.
