Man in stable condition following police shooting

HOLLISTER >> A police officer shot and injured a man early Tuesday at a home in Hollister, authoritie­s said.

The man was in stable condition at a hospital, the Hollister Police Department said in a news release.

Officers were called to the residence on Kimberly Court at 7:30 a.m. for a report of a family member who was possibly violent and had access to kitchen knives, police said.

Police said the man approached the officers as they spoke with family members and refused to take his hands out of his pockets.
