The Bottom Line: Mercedes-benz currently sells nine different size SUVS with 30 models to choose from. Plus each can be equipped with several option packages to meet your needs. The entry level Mercedes-benz SUV is the GLA model with a nice price of only $36,230. That’s a good place to start. At the top of list is the Mercedes Maybach Ultra Luxury GLS SUV with a base price of $160,500, plus options.

Mercedes-benz has an SUV in every size, in every model, at every price point, with 100’s of option packages available, that cover two wheel drive, all wheel drive, electric hybrids, sport models, luxury editions, super luxury editions, and several levels of AMG power and performance models. Today there is a Mercedes-benz SUV for everyone.

This week Mercedes sent me a 2020 Mercedes-benz AMG GLC43 Coupe SUV to test drive and review. This AMG SUV edition has a base price of $63,000. The options on the test car are incredible. The list is 21 lines long, and adds $19,555 to the base price. Then add in the destination charge of $995, and the total MSRP manufacturer’s suggested retail price came to: $83,550.

This MBZ GLC SUV is in the Luxury Compact SUV class and the price reflects that. After you add in the local and state sales tax, DMV fees, and the dealer prep charges, you’re at near $94,000 out the door. Of course nice year end cash discounts, and great lease terms, are available right now too.

The optional equipment and value added packages are in addition to the AMG GLC43 Coupe’s standard features. Let’s go over the list to see how fantastic this GLC SUV really is. The first extra cost option is:

The Selenite Grey Metallic paint for $720, then add in:

Black Leather Interior with Red Stitching - $1,620

Now that we know what it costs, how does it drive? We start with the AMG enhanced 3.0L liter V6 Biturbo engine with 385 hp horsepower that features numerous AMG enhancements for instant response. Increased turbo boost puts its 384 lb-ft of torque on tap from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm, for a 0 to 60 time of just 4.7 seconds.

Rapid Multispark ignition and high pressure Direct Injection act with millisecond speed and molecular precision. Beneath its red AMG engine cover is a lightweight diecast alloy engine block, with variable valve timing and reduced friction, that further raise efficiency and performance.

Next up is the AMG Performance 4MATIC all wheel drive system. AMG has developed a version of 4MATIC that obliterates every notion concerning the performance potential of AWD all wheel drive. A 31% to 69% front to rear torque split assures an ideal balance of power delivery under hard acceleration and coming out of corners.

In the Sport handling mode of the multistage ESP, Dynamic Cornering Assist further helps to prevent unwanted understeer. In every driving condition, AMG Performance 4MATIC enhances grip and acceleration, while preserving agility and driving fun.

Plus they add in an ECO start and stop engine program, the AMG Dynamic Select system, the AMG Sport suspension with Air Body Roll control, and an AMG Enhanced Braking system. These AMG features allow the engine power, sport suspension and braking systems to all work together for that fantastic sports car feeling, in a compact luxury SUV.

The attraction of traction in the AMG GLC43 infuses a benchmark SUV with AMG magic. Its Biturbo V6 engine is bolted to a quick shifting 9 speed automatic transmission, then sent to a 4MATIC all wheel drive system, with air suspension, that team up for a great gripping response. Bold looks and advanced tech are even more captivating.

So, call, click or visit your local Mercedes-benz dealer for a test drive and a Bottom Line price review, for one of the best AMG SUVS for sale in this segment. GLC SUV’S start at around $43 Grand, minus rebates, so there is a Mercedes-benz SUV priced right within your budget.
