One man has been arrested and another is being sought in connection with an armed robbery at the Crystal Springs Golf Course in unincorporated San Mateo County, authorities said.

At about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, two men armed with a Glock semiautomatic pistol robbed the victim of his Rolex watch and wallet, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Joe Cang said in a news release. The suspects left the area in a silver Infiniti sedan.

Cang said the men committed another robbery about an hour later in San Ramon.

Soon after the second robbery, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the Infiniti in a parking lot at the Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton. The suspects ran from the deputies, Cang said, adding that one was arrested and one managed to escape.

The man who was arrested had the handgun and several Rolex watches, Cang said.

Cang said detectives interviewed the suspect, described as a 22-year-old Oakland resident, and learned he and the other man had committed an armed robbery Wednesday in San Mateo.

The suspect was booked into San Mateo County jail on charges including armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a large-capacity magazine, felon in possession of ammunition, conspiracy, committing a felony while out on bail and felon committing a robbery with a loaded firearm. He was also booked on a no-bail warrant.

The sheriff’s office is working with the Daly City, San Mateo and San Ramon police departments on the investigation, Cang said. Anyone with information related to the case can contact the investigations bureau at 650-363-4050 or cbarker@smcgov.org.
