River Islands is also adding new lifestyle amenities to keep up with the growth of the community. Two new lakes are now open. The large, multipurpose 15acre community park is under construction, and a park is underway in the Avalon neighborhood. The third K-8 charter school, a member of the River Islands Academies, will open in August, as will the Ninth Grade Academy — the first phase of River Islands High School.
