Milton's big game leads the 76ers past the Magic

Shake Milton had 24 points, a career-high 10 assists and nine rebounds, and the short-handed Philadelph­ia 76ers beat the host Orlando Magic 107-99 on Friday night.

Tobias Harris added 23 points for Philadelph­ia, and reserve Georges Niang made five 3-pointers on his way to 18 points. It was the Sixers' ninth consecutiv­e win against the Magic.

Despite playing without injured stars Joel Embiid and James Harden and blossoming guard Tyrese Maxey, Philadelph­ia shook off a slow start and outscored Orlando 30-20 in the gamechangi­ng third quarter. Orlando closed to 96-91 and 103-98 late in the fourth, but the Sixers stayed in control.

Franz Wagner scored 24 points for Orlando, and Bol Bol had 18 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.

HORNETS 110, TIMBERWOLV­ES 108 >> Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 28 points and host Charlotte stopped Minnesota's five-game win streak. Terry Rozier had 22 points and eight assists, helping the Hornets (6-14) win backto-back games for the first time this season. P.J. Washington scored 16 points, and reserve Theo Maledon finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Anthony Edwards scored 25 points for the Timberwolv­es (10-9), who shot 22% from 3-point range. The Hornets had four players out.

LAKERS 105, SPURS 94 >> LeBron James scored 21 points in his return from a fivegame absence, Anthony Davis had 25 points and 15 rebounds for the Los Angeles Lakers, who earned for their first road victory of the season. San Antonio lost its seventh straight. Tre Jones had 19 points for the Spurs. TRAIL BLAZERS 132, KNICKS 129 (OT) >> Jerami Grant scored 44 points and Anfernee Simons scored 38 for visiting Portland. Guard Josh Hart had 19 rebounds for the Trail Blazers. Jalen Brunson led New York with 32 points and Julius Randle scored 23.
