-

Grant Sherfield scored a seasonhigh 30 points, and Oklahoma beat visiting No. 2 Alabama 93-69 on Saturday in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

Jalen Hill added 26 points, helping second-year Oklahoma coach Porter Moser to his biggest win with the program. Tanner Groves had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Sooners (12-9) had lost three straight, but there had been some signs of progress. They had three losses to Top 25 teams by four or fewer points in January.

Two years ago, Oklahoma beat then-No. 9 Alabama in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The Sooners pulled off another upset by shooting 58% from the field and posting a season-high point total.

Rylan Griffen led Alabama with 15 points and seven rebounds.

The Crimson Tide (18-3) had won nine in a row.

Kansas State improved to 18-3 to match the 1972-73 team for the school's best start through 21 games.

Johnson struggled from the field, going just 5 of 16. But it was nevertheless a special night for the senior forward, who collapsed on the Gators' sideline due to a heart condition during a game against Florida State just over two years ago.

Women NO. 3 STANFORD SURVIVES SCARE >>

Cameron Brink had 21 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks, Haley Jones added 17 points and eight rebounds and No. 3 Stanford beat Oregon State 63-60 on Friday night.

Agnes Emma-Nnopu added eight points and five rebounds as Stanford (20-2, 8-1 Pac-12) extended its Pac-12 home winning streak to 20 games.

An intense matchup against a plucky conference opponent may help the Cardinal prepare for what's expected to be another title run, Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer said.

“We definitely think it can help us,” VanDerveer said.

“In the beginning of the game I don't think we were aggressive enough defensively. We weren't out on people and we need to be more aggressive and get to be more handsy, but we found a way to win, and I'm really excited that our team did that.”

Timea Gardiner scored 16 points for Oregon State (11-9, 3-6).

The game was tied at 60 with just over a minute left before Jones connected on 3 of 4 free throws to give Stanford a 63-60 lead with 23 seconds remaining.

After Noelle Mannen missed a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left, Shalexxus Aaron came up with the offensive rebound, but Talana Lepolo's steal in the closing seconds sealed the win.

The Cardinal are back in action today, hosting Oregon at 2 p.m. after the Ducks beat Cal 78-73 on Friday night.
