Renowned fortune teller, astrologer and Feng Shui Master Y.C. Sun recently shared his predictions for 2024, the Year of the Wood Dragon, with Silicon Valley REALTORS®. He noted the Wood Dragon has a strong sense of ownership and ability to turn things upside down. It never gives up and releases powerful energy to accomplish its vision.

Sun explained the Chinese zodiac is based on 12 animals and the five elements of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. These combine to form 60 zodiac animals which take turns to rule a year in a 60-year cycle, and with Feng Shui’s Flying Stars help predict the future.

Previous Wood Dragon years are 1964, 1904, 1844, 1784. What happened in those years lends insight to what will happen this year, said the feng shui master.

In 1964, there was the civil rights movement, which led to the Civil Rights Act; Democrat President Lyndon Johnson defeated Republican Barry Goldwater; British Prime Minister Harold Wilson led the Labour Party to a narrow victory; America’s involvement in the Vietnam War; China acquired nuclear weapons; the battle over water between Israel and its Arab neighbors.

The U.S. real estate market will perform much better this year, said Sun. “Last year was the Year of the Water Rabbit. Water and the Rabbit characteristics were not strong enough to sustain the real estate market, but wood, like a tree with branches, is a sign of limitless growth and expansion activity, can sustain the market.”

Sun predicts the economy will grow this year. The Fed may cut interest rates in May, July, and September. The stock market will experience a smaller gain than last year. In demand jobs will include anything in tech that involves AI, software developers, information security and data analysts, renewable energy specialists, chefs, fashion designers, nurse practitioners, mental health professionals, financial advisors, truck drivers. The middle-aged woman (40-60 years) will have great advantage.

It’s not so good news for the West Coast, including the San Francisco Bay Area, which faces the Feng Shui “5 Disaster” star. Expect more job cuts in companies rebalancing workforces, cutting costs or moving to less expensive cities. Large earthquakes may occur in the Southeast, South, and West, from Alaska through California. Powerful storms and flooding may happen on the West Coast, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, etc. in April, August, September, October, December, and January.

This year, good locations are the Southwest, North, Northwest, East. To counter bad locations, in the West, add a copper bell, wind chime with six bars, or six copper coins; in the Southeast, metal décor, copper bell, metal gong, or peace lily; South and Northeast, glass of water or blue color décor; Center/Middle, red color décor, turn on the lights.

Sun cautioned that “general predictions are based on ancient Chinese methodology, and should be viewed with a discriminating eye and an open mind.” More accurate predictions can be achieved by a detailed analysis of a person’s birthdate, birth time, and birthplace.

“Consider getting in shape, eat healthier food, spend less time on social media, visit nature, learn a new skill, be kind, proactive, focus on your family’s interests and safety,” added Sun.
