Ronald Louis Mifsud
1943 - 2024
Resident of San Jose
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Louis Mifsud, affectionately known as Ron, on March 30, 2024, at the age of 80. Surrounded by his adoring family, Ron's final moments were a testament to the love and unity he fostered throughout his remarkable life.
Born on a Tuesday in San Francisco to Mary Ann and James Mifsud, Ron's early years were filled with the spirit of adventure, the deep love for his city, and the companionship of his brothers, Father Jim, Bill, George, Gerry, and Mike. It was in San Jose, the city he would call home for most of his adult life, that he met his future wife, Dorothy. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership that would span 38 wonderful years.
Ron's legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Dorothy; his devoted children, Danette (Edwin, in memory), Ronnie (Julie), Paul (Micheyl), Nicole, Ben (Holly), Russ (Haylee), and Joe (Nicole); as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jason (Sara), Christian (Kellee), Molly, Lindsey, Nolan (in memory), Jake, Kayla, Gabriella (Stephanie), Salvatore, Vincenzo, Owen, Aidyn, Ethan, Bella, Mason, Posey, Goldie, Josh; and his great-granddaughter, Mia. Each of them a shining example of his love and spirit.
Ron's life was a journey of connection and laughter, where he was a source of love and joy for his family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. As a charismatic salesman, Ron had the unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making lasting impressions and friendships wherever he went.
An avid supporter of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, Ron's passion for sports was only matched by his love for coaching little league. He exemplified his brother, Father Jim’s, life motto “never give up” throughout his life. His love for trivia, reading, vacations to Hawaii, and especially trips to Disneyland, were sources of joy, but it was the time spent with family and friends that he cherished most.
Celebrating 41 years of sobriety, Ron was a steadfast friend of Bill W., embracing his AA family with open arms and an open heart. He was a mentor to many, sharing his wisdom, strength, and hope with those on their own journeys to recovery.
To his grandchildren, Ron was known as "Papa," a title he wore with pride and joy. His quick wit, endless humor, and loving nature made him the family's cornerstone, leaving behind memories filled with laughter and love.
As we bid farewell to Ronald Louis Mifsud, we reflect on a life well-lived, marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. Though he may have departed from this world, his legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, dear Ron, until we meet again.
We would like to thank the staff at Bellerose Senior Living for their compassionate care that they gave Ron during his stay. Katie and the staff were amazing to him.
