Boyertown: Volunteers are needed for the Boyertown Area Multi-Service Meals on Wheels program with the hopes of adding another route. Homebound elderly and/or disabled clients are provided one hot lunch per day as well as a cold evening meal all prepared on-site daily at Multi-Service. The delivery of a nutritious meal, friendly conversation and safety check improve the quality of life for the community’s most vulnerable adults. To become an active volunteer contact Diane Joyce at Boyertown Area Multi-Service at 610-367-6957Monday to Friday between 11a.m. to 1p.m., or email djoyce@boyertownareamulti-service.org. She’ll answer questions and provide volunteer training.

Pottstown:

A “Fill that Truck”

event to gather pet food for those in need will be held from 11 a.m. to 3p.m. on Sunday at 1055S. Hanover St., Suite 1 (warehouse). Will include food, basket raffle, vendors, SPCA mobile unit, crafters and blessing of animals. This event is being sponsored by The Animal House Project/Chester County Pet Food Pantry volunteers who work to reduce the number of pets in shelters by addressing an underlying cause that their owners can no longer afford to feed them. For families facing financial crisis, The Animal House Project distributes donated pet food, pet items, and veterinary vouchers for spaying/neutering and vaccines the first Saturday of each month from 11a.m. to 2p.m. For more information call 484-5580467. DEARSHYBRIDE>> Yes, I do. A wedding doesn’t have to be big and fancy to be beautiful and meaningful. I suggest you and your boyfriend be married quietly in a ceremony officiated by a justice of the peace or clergyperson of your choice. Ask your relatives and close friends to accompany you while you take your vows and have a small celebration afterward commensurate with your budget.
