Harry P. Leister, 93, of Pottstown, widow of Marion (Spare) Leister, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 in Pottstown.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was a son of the late Howard Leister and the late Elsie (Roos) Leister.

Harry started working for the Borough of Pottstown in 1953 as a clerk in the office. He later became a water meter reader when the Borough install water meters. He finally became the head of the utility office for the Borough retiring in 1985.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Harry was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Pottstown, Pottstown Elks Club, and Pottstown Ambucs.

He is survived by two grandsons, Mark Oerther and his wife Jackie, Arden, NC, and Michael Oerther, Myrtle Beach, SC, and four great-grandchild­ren, David, Michael III, Aiden and Avri. He was predecease­d by his daughter, Patricia Orban.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiatin­g will be Reverend Karen Nuscher Creasy. Burial will be private in Limerick Burial Grounds. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
