Gilbertsville: The Education and Career Fair will be hosted by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the high schools of southeastern Berks, western Montgomery and northern Chester counties, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Gilbertsville Fire Company, 1454 E. Philadelphia Ave. It is free for students and the general public. The Chamber has approximately 70-plus colleges, universities, and schools of higher education that exhibit at the College Fair supplying valuable information to aid students in making the right choices for their futures. The Fair boasts two new opportunities for students this year — Chamber Member businesses will also have exhibits aimed at providing information for students who wish to enter the workforce upon graduation, and HR Professionals, also on hand, will be available to provide tips on resumes and more. Area school students attending the fair, to date, include Boyertown Area High School, Coventry Christian School, Pine Forge Academy, Pottsgrove High School, Pottstown High School, Progressions School, Upper Perkiomen High School and West-Mont Christian Academy. Boyertown: The 7th Annual Beef and Beer
fundraiser will be hosted by Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Keystone Fire Co., 240 Walnut St. This event will be a Moonlight Memories Masquerade Party. Dinner includes beef, beer, soda and snacks. There will also be a DJ, dancing, masquerade costume prizes, door prizes, raffle items and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. This event is open to the public; however, tickets are limited.
