The Mercury (Pottstown, PA) - - LOCAL NEWS -

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic, said during her town hall on CNN that Pope Francis agrees with her position that the president’s temporary pause on refugees is not Christian. However when someone in the audience pointed out that Pope Francis disagrees with her position on abortion, she said she knows more about the subject than he does. How convenient.

Having incited race riots and the law enforcement assassinations Obama is apparently not done fomenting anarchy. With over 250 offices, his “Organizing for Action” leftists have been abetting insurrection since the fall elections. Mark Furlong

This is for all the teachers out there especially at Stroudsburg. Stop using the children as hostages every time you strike. Work out your problems over the summer like adults. It sickens me the way you make the children and taxpayers suffer to get your way. By the way I work in education as well so I’m fully aware of the games you are playing.

My doctor suggested I start an exercise program but to do it gradually. So this morning I drove past the gym. Jim Fitch

My comment goes out to the caller who always has something negative to say about Tiger Woods. If the best is judged by how much money they have earned in their career Tiger Woods is at the top of the list. His great-great grandchildren will have a hard time going broke. Facts Matter

You know the reason Michael Flynn lied is because his boss lied. It just goes in the family. Monkey see monkey do. A lot of monkeys in there.

The main media news has been caught in 40 lies in the past week alone. One was that the Martin Luther King statue has been removed, another that Trump didn’t send condolences to the mosque in Canada after the shootings. Stay alert folks.

Thank you to The Mercury on Tuesday for the nice article and to Morningstar Fellowship for having the special needs prom. Everybody was smiling and having a great time.

Just to let the readers know how my DISH bill went up for channels 3, 6 and 10 because of millionaire celebrities that they have to pay on these channels. It’s ridiculous anymore. Anyone else have a comment?

Donald Trump was discussing highly confidential information in front of random citizens. He is a threat to our national security.

What is a mother to do with her baby after being raped by her husband or lover or some street derelict was the shocking question asked in Sound Off recently. The child is innocent on any level and deserves life and protection from the mother. There are courts for child support and agencies for adoption. There are countless childless couples waiting for the privilege to raise a child. All life is a gift from God and may heaven help us. Martha

Just a comment about the Tuesday Mercury article about the police raise in Pottstown. They are worth every penny these men and women. God bless them.

I read in the paper where Jordan Spieth is keeping up with Tiger Woods’ pace. I hope Tiger tells him when his wife comes after him with a nine-iron to duck. JB, Gilbertsville

I agree with the person who said that anyone who believes what the Republicans have to say has far too much time on their hands and needs to get a life.

President Trump said the American people will not have to pay for the wall. So if he’s so sure that the Mexicans will pay let him and his billionaire cabinet pay for it. Let them try and get their money back from Mexico so that if Mexico doesn’t pay the American people who actually work and pay taxes without loopholes won’t get screwed once again. Fed Up

I’m on Social Security. I have found a way to make ends meet. I make less than $30,000 a year. I am going on Welfare.

I just read in The Mercury that some of the bridges in Pottstown are falling apart and they need repair. Maybe that’s the answer to all the speeding that’s going on along Moser Road. People are trying to get out of town before the bridges crumble and they can’t get out.

In reference to Mark Furlong’s Sound Off about the low profit margin of the fast food industry, I don’t have any idea where he is getting his information. The fast food industry is a very very high profit margin. Unless you’re in it and higher up in management they’re not going to tell you that. How much does it really cost to put a burger and fries on the counter? John from Parkerford

Get set folks, a developer is ready to fill up Chester County like they did with Montgomery County. More kids, more houses, more taxes. Get ready for them.
