Joanne R. (Romig) Ziemba, 81, of Lower Pottsgrove

Joanne R. (Romig) Ziemba, 81, of Lower Pottsgrove Twp., Pottstown, PA, wife of Anthony J. Ziemba Sr., died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 at her residence.

Born in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul I. and Elizabeth (Baker) Romig. Mrs. Ziemba was employed by the US Postal Service, and was the first female mail carrier in Pottstown, later becoming a clerk.

Joanne enjoyed spending time in Oak Orchard, Delaware and was a member of the Pop’s Crop Camping Club. She also was an avid doll collector and an Elvis fan. She loved her pet boxer, Lenox.

Surviving in addition to her husband is three sons, Anthony J. Ziemba Jr., Pottstown; Paul E. Ziemba, Pottstown; Donald L. Ziemba and his wife Marlene, Stowe; one daughter, Kathleen F. Kissinger, Pottstown; one sister, Barbara R. wife of Ronald Helwig, Reading; 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Angela, Jessica, Heather, Deena, Thomas, Jason, and Kristy; nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Monday from the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, 359 King St., Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Barry Moyer. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. There will be a viewing from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
