Dorothy A. Grif­fith, 84, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 15, 2017 at home.

Born on Septem­ber 1, 1932, in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daugh­ter of the late Ho­race and Ma­bel (Birm­ing­ham) Grif­fith.

Dorothy was a grad­u­ate of Phoenixville High School, and a grad­u­ate of Ursi­nus Col­lege. She then re­ceived her Master’s De­gree in Li­brary Sci­ence from Drexel Univer­sity.

She worked for the Mont­gomery County Li­brary sys­tem in Norristown as a Li­brar­ian for over 40 years.

She was a mem­ber and for­mer Trea­surer of the East Pike­land His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety.

She was an ac­com­plished pi­anist, lover of an­i­mals, ap­pre­ci­ated clas­si­cal mu­sic and was a sup­porter of the Forge The­atre in Phoenixville.

She is sur­vived by 3 neph­ews, Thomas hus­band of Myra Grzywacz of Honey Brook, PA, Thomas F. Rogers, Jr. of Coatesville, PA, and David hus­band of Michele Grzywacz of Phoenixville, PA.

She was pre­ceded in death by sis­ters, Louise Rogers and Frances Grzywacz.

Rel­a­tives and Friends are in­vited to at­tend her Fu­neral Ser­vice in the Devlin Ros­mos Kepp & Gatcha Fu­neral Home & Cre­ma­tion Ser­vices, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Av­enue, Phoenixville, PA, on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 20, 2017 at 11:00 am.

Burial will fol­low in Brown­back’s Ceme­tery, Spring City, PA.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held in the fu­neral home on Mon­day morn­ing from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flow­ers con­tri­bu­tions may be made to Ch­ester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Ch­ester, PA 19380.
