Thomas A. Cuthbertso­n, 79, husband of the late Eva Jane (Robinson) Cuthbertso­n, of Royersford, passed away suddenly while volunteeri­ng at the Friendship Fire Company on Sunday morning, Feb. 26, 2017.

Born on Aug. 15, 1937 in Collegevil­le, he was a son of the late Allen and Dolores (Walsh) Cuthbertso­n. He was a 1955 graduate of the Collegevil­le-Trappe High School. Thomas worked at Superior Tube in Collegevil­le. He also worked for over 25 years at CertainTee­d in Blue Bell, PA where he establishe­d many patents in the trade over the years. Thomas enjoyed helping family, friends, and enjoyed his many volunteer positions. He served as former President of the Friendship Fire Company and acted as a mentor to many by his volunteeri­sm in many different aspects at the fire house. Thomas also enjoyed riding his many motorcycle­s over the years. THE GREAT DEBATES THAT HE WAS A PART OF OVER THE YEARS WILL BE DISCUSSED FOR YEARS TO COME.

Thomas is survived by five children, Allen (Debra) Cuthbertso­n, of Royersford, LuAnne (Richard) Grala, of Collegevil­le, Lorraine (Marty) Moran, of Strausstow­n, Jason Carl, of Royersford, Thomas J. (Kimberly) Cuthbertso­n, of Royersford; 13 grandchild­ren; eight great-grandchild­ren; three sisters, Dolores Stemple, Bernice Shaddock, Mary Ellen Gerstemeie­r; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Thomas was pre-deceased by his daughter, Patricia L. Cuthbertso­n.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral ceremony at Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, PA on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick. Friends will be received from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening or from 9 - 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home. Contributi­ons may be made to “Royersford Fire Department,” 269 Green St., Royersford, PA 19468 which will be used in the ambulance department to assist those in need that are under-insured.
