I read in The Mercury about this controversy over the start of the school day for the older students. I just wondered with the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation that teens start school no earlier than 8:30 a.m. why they don’t tell the school districts to send a letter home to the parents and tell them to take the kids’ iPhones and iPads away from them about 9 p.m. and stay off Facebook, etc. and go to bed? I think that would probably solve the problem.

This is to the person who says let’s stop sending money overseas and use it for the homeless here. There’s only one problem, they already said they want to cut food stamps for the poor and also want to cut lunch program for the kids so now the kids are going to be in school and hungry. So I don’t know what you’re talking about, give it to the starving kids. He’s going to leave the kids in this county starve too the way it sounds.

I watched about onehalf hour of the Academy Awards. That was not an awards show. It was let’sslam-the-president and from what I hear it went on all night. I also will not watch Colbert on the “Late Show” for the same reason as you can see on his commercials. I’m a Democrat but I hate what’s going on. Let’s stop.

Tea Party, do you have any facts to back up your statement that we don’t have a free, fair and independent news media like The Mercury? Give us a few facts. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

In regards to school starting later, why do the parents not take away the kids’ electronics earlier in the night so the kids can get to sleep a little bit sooner so they can be wide awake for school in the morning? It’s ridiculous changing the school’s hours to suit the inconsiderate students and parents.

Two things, first of all for the person who said it’s time to get off the Trump train and for the person who would like to know why Donald Trump hasn’t mentioned the infrastructure lately and that it worries you also about drug prices, neither one of you watched his presidential address did you? Start paying attention.

In a recent submission to The Mercury Sen. Toomey espoused the virtues of Betsy Devos and gave the reasons he voted for her for secretary of education. I’ll give you 60,000 more, that would be $60,000 that she donated to his re-election campaign. That would be a good reason to vote for her.

I think The Mercury should put a list of all the Owen J. Roberts School Board members in the paper with their phone numbers so that the people who can’t afford to pay their taxes can call them and tell them that we don’t need any more ridiculous changes that’s going to add more to the taxes.

I’m calling to respond to the Upper Pottsgrove new noise ordinance from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. This ordinance should be enforced all day, simple and to the point. Who wrote this ordinance? Bellows, hoots, snorts, moos, roars — is there a lion in Upper Pottsgrove? This law needs to be amended till all hours of the day. It’s common sense. People love to hear nature and not by rude ignorant people.

Illegal alien Pablo Serrano-Vitorino murdered five Americans over a twoday span one year ago. Despite a prior deportation and multiple felonies he was released from custody on several occasions. Obama owns this as do by association those supporters recently on display at Phoenixville High School.

Isn’t it amazing that the Democrats who did not want any investigation of emails from Hillary Clinton all of a sudden decide there must be an investigation even though the FBI and the Secret Service has said there’s nothing there. They want everybody to quit. They want investigations. These people are an absolute joke.

To the person looking for the Phillies games on the radio check out FM 830 out of Reading. I think you can get the ballgames on that channel. Hope that helps you out.

I’m beginning to think that everyone in the White House is corrupt except maybe the janitor and I’ve got my eye on him. Maybe he had contact with the Russians too.
