Phoenixville: A Country and Western Beef and Beer to benefit the Phoenixville Area Senior Center will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the Kimberton Fire Company Covered Bridge Room, 2276 Kimberton Road. In addition to food and drink, included in the $35 admission price is music by DJ Tom Dalton and free line dancing lessons. Western costumes are encouraged. To reserve your ticket call 610-9351515. Amity: The Amity Township Crime Watch Monthly Meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Road. Guest speakers are Chief Michael Zomolsky and Lt. Christopher Brown of the Amity Township Fire Department. They will be doing a power point presentation regarding fire safety
and will speak about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting. All are welcome.
Limerick: The Limerick Fire Company is hosting a free screening of “Portraits of Professional CAREgivers. Their Passion. Their Pain” at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13, at the Limerick Chapel, 378 West Ridge Pike. Through dramatic personal stories, CAREgivers probes the emotionally risky aspects of professional care providers. The film asks the question: How is the care provider affected emotionally and physically, and who helps our helpers? Through the poignant stories of professionals, viewers will discover that engaged empathic caregiving can be a significant occupational hazard. The film explores the painful and human side of these professions and the professionals’ response to trauma known as compassion fatigue or secondary traumatic stress. After the film there will be a discussion with the filmmakers, Vic Compher and Rodney Whittenberg.
