Darlene Jones, 76

Darlene Joan Jones, 76, of Hanover, loving wife of George R. “Bob” Jones, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at her home.

Born on Monday, August 19, 1940 in Engelsville, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd R. and Elva Moyer Benfield.

Darlene was employed as a sales associate with JC Penney for 20 years and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street. She was a former member of the South Hills Golf Club and enjoyed bowling in her league at South Hanover Lanes .

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 57 years, are two daughters, Shelli Panebaker and her husband William, of Hanover, and Sherri Gresh and her husband, James, of Oley; five grandchildren, James J. Gresh, Joshua B. Gresh, Josiah R. Gresh all of Oley, and Jamie L. Panebaker of Hanover, William P. Panebaker, II of Dover; one greatgranddaughter, Nora Emory Panebaker of Dover; three nieces, Patti Beekley, Debbi Braddock both of Pottstown and Terri Detweiler of Reading; and three nephews, Gary Calahan of Florida, Darryl Benfield of Reading and Dean Benfield of Boyertown.

The funeral will be held at noon Monday, March 13, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with her son-in-law, James D. Gresh officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
