George J. Daher, 68, of East Coventry
George J. Daher, 68, of East Coventry, husband of Kathleen (Fitzpatrick) Daher, and longtime resident of Phoenixville, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 11, 2017.
Born on November 7, 1948 in Windber, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Smith) Daher.
George served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was awarded three Purple Hearts, two stars and various medals.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Pottstown, PA.
George spent time umpiring at PYBRL and KYAL. He also coached basketball at PMYC and was League Commissioner.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Kimberton Golf Club.
George was a devoted husband, proud father, loving Jido to his grandkids, adoring son, supportive brother and loyal friend to all.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Maureen Lahman and husband Robert of Mission Viejo, CA; son, Joseph Daher and wife Jennifer of Malvern, PA; daughter, Jessica Viscusi and husband Michael of Collegeville, PA; five grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Parker, Cooper and Tucker; sister, Margaret Jatres of Spring City; sister, Mary Myers and husband William of Skippack; brother, David and wife Norma of Phoenixville; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his in-laws, James and Teresa Fitzpatrick and son, Barry A. Jones.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2101 Pottstown Pike, Pottstown, PA, on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 am
A viewing will be held in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA, on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and in church on Friday morning from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
