Francis X. Colden Sr., 85, widower of Mary Agnes (Dunne), died Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

He was born in Sellersvil­le to the late Henry and the late Anna (Montague) Colden. Frank graduated from Holy Spirit High School in Atlantic City, NJ, he joined the U.S. Marines where he proudly served in the Korean War. After his military service, Frank lived in the King of Prussia area and worked at Malvern Preparator­y School in maintenanc­e. Family was a very important part of his life. He enjoyed camping and travel to his home in the mountains. Frank loved sports and his Philadelph­ia teams.

He leaves behind seven loving children: Frank Colden, Jr., Paula Staneruck, Gerry Colden, Mary Niehls, Christine Clark, Dolores Sessler, and Patti Gill. His brother: Richard Colden Sr. and sister Mary Creaghe; nineteen Grandchild­ren and ten greatgrand­children. Preceding in death his daughter: Cina Shaw, Grandson: Francis X Colden III and his three brothers: Harry Colden, William Colden and John Colden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 838 Walnut St. Royersford, PA 19468. With the Monsignor Bolger officiatin­g. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 pm Friday evening, March 24, 2017 in the funeral home, 135 Bridge Street, Spring City, PA. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the, American Heart Associatio­n, 625 W. Ridge Pike, Conshohock­en, PA 19428.
