Spring-Ford downs GA in OT behind Rosenblum

Ryan Rosenblum scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Saturday afternoon to lead the Spring-Ford boys lacrosse team to a 7-6 win over visiting Germantown Academy.

Rosenblum finished with three goals on the afternoon as the Rams (2-0) rebounded from an early 1-0 deficit to lead 3-2 at the half. Danny Cassidy finished with a goal and three assists while Drew Giovinco notched a pair of goals. Brad Hart had a goal and an assist while Kyle Pettine finished with 11 saves in goal. Andrew Towne led GA with a pair of scores. BOYERTOWN 12, EXETER 5 >> The Bears opened up their season with a non-conference win over the Eagles.

Jason Clinton led the way with five goals while junior Mason Turner chipped in three. Brady McFalls helped with three assists while goaltender­s Mark Fredericks­en and Cole Metzger combined for 12 saves. WILSON 12, OWEN J. ROBERTS 7>> Joe Tordone finished with a hat trick while Logan Clefisch scored twice and noted an assist in the Wildcats’ non-conference loss against the Bulldogs.

Jack Grayson led Wilson with four goals and a pair of assists while Tommy Reinhart and J.P. Shaaber each scored twice and added an assist.

Girls Lacrosse

SPRING-FORD 19, NEWSOME 4>> Camryn Jones notched five goals as the Rams beat Newsome (Florida) at the Nerp Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Behind Jones, Jill Quigley, Liv Yeagle and Cassie Marte scored three goals apiece while Natalie Wechter scored twice. Mac Doyle, Mikayla Lynch and Lauren Mensch each scored once while Kamille Ward finished with three saves in goal. WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 16, UPPER MERION 5 >> Quinn and Riley O’Malley scored two goals apiece in the Vikings’ non-conference loss against Rustin.

Francesca Lindelow notched a goal in the loss. AGNESIRWIN­22, HILLSCHOOL 2>> Bree Gorman and Hannah Delahaye each notched a goal in the Blues’ non-conference loss against Agnes Irwin.

Mariah Sweeney and Annie Carroll combined for nine saves in goal.

Baseball

OLEY VALLEY 12, POTTSTOWN 0>> The Torjans were held to just two hits during a nonconfere­nce rout against the Lynx.

Gavin Blankenbil­ler and Nash Williamson combined for the shutout on the mound while Tyler Wentzel went 2-for-2 with a double and a home run. Pete Vaccaro and Nate Christman each had a home run and three RBI in the win.

Softball

UPPER PERKIOMEN 13, OLEY VALLEY 0 >> Karlee Fretz pitched a one-hitter as the Tribe opened up the season with a non-conference win over the Lynx.

The junior helped herself at the dish where she finished 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. Morgan Lindsay came up just a homer short of the cycle, finishing up with three runs scored and an RBI while Alyssa Sullivan was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.
