Phyllis d’Entremont Welch passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Federick Living in Frederick, PA. She was 84.

Born to Leah (Deveau) and Roland A. d’Entremont on April 11, 1932, she grew up in Wakefield, MA and was a former resident of King of Prussia for 42 years. As a more recent resident of Creekwood Village in Skippack, she served on the Associatio­n’s Board of Directors.

Phyllis earned her Nursing Degree from Lynn Hospital School of Nursing in Lynn, Massachuse­tts in 1952. Phyllis was a long time employee of Lankenau Hospital, serving as a staff nurse. She later completed her career as a Nursing Education Instructor at Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, where she was Instructor of Anatomy & Physiology.

Within the course of her profession­al career, Phyllis earned three additional degrees, including a Master of Science - Biology, from Villanova University. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda honor fraternity and had been listed in “Who’s Who in American Nursing” while contributi­ng to various published nursing texts.

Phyllis studied classical vocal music and was a soloist for the Greenleigh Chorale and Mastersing­ers and local churches, and also sang with the Montgomery Senior Concert Choir while serving as its president. She particular­ly enjoyed playing handbells. Phyllis was a Republican committee woman, and served as the secretary of the Upper Merion Republican Committee. In addition, she served as chairman of the Upper Merion Shade Tree and Beautifica­tion Commission. She was a past president of the Prussian Valley Council of Republican Women and a board member in the early years of the Upper Merion Cultural Center.

Phyllis is survived by two sons, Todd M. (Gloria Zingaro) Welch of Harleysvil­le, PA, and Jay R. (Debra) Welch of Cut Bank, MT; one daughter, Leslie C. (Ronald) Ingram of Sanatoga, PA; three grandchild­ren: Jeremy, Matthew and Nicholas Welch; and other loving family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband, O. Daniel Welch, who passed away in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 AM. The family will greet guests from 10 to 10:50 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 South Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406.
