Traffic Planning and Design Inc. makes staff addition

POTTSTOWN >> Alex Meitzler, P.E., PTOE has joined the staff of Traffic Planning and Design Inc. as a senior project manager in the firm’s Transporta­tion Planning Department. Meitzler will serve as the office manager for a new Traffic Planning and Design Inc. office to be located in Maryland. Utilizing his broad technical, managerial, and public speaking experience, Meitzler will help to expand Traffic Planning and Design Inc.’s services in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvan­ia, and beyond.

Meitzler brings 26 years of industry experience to his new position with. His expertise covers all facets of traffic and operations, including strategic planning, traffic impact studies, traffic engineerin­g analyses, traffic signal designs, and preliminar­y/final design. Meitzler has provided services for a wide range of clients, including public agencies (e.g., MdSHA, DelDOT, VDOT, PennDOT, FHWA), municipali­ties and counties and private developers. Meitzler’s recent experience includes traffic task management for a $70 million design/build project improving Route 1 near Fort Belvoir, Va., and for a Diverging Diamond Interchang­e project in Blacksburg, Va.

Meitzler will assist Traffic Planning and Design Inc. in providing services to existing clients, will assist in the enhancemen­t of those services, and pursue new clients.

Oaks

CREDIT UNION OPENS BRANCH IN OAKS >> Ardent Credit Union celebrated the opening of its fifth branch, located in Oaks, on March 18.

The event was headed by Ardent’s President and CEO Rob Werner and CFO Joe Conners. The event started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a check presentati­on to two local community members, the Phoenixvil­le Library and Sweet Fields Organic Farm & Sustainabi­lity Center, followed by the grand opening festivitie­s. The day included face painting, water ice, hot dogs, balloons and more.

“With this new location, we look to continue to grow for years to come with our new flagship facility here in Oaks, ” Werner said.

Ardent is headquarte­red in Philadelph­ia and serves Philadelph­ia, Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks and Chester counties. It has a significan­t number of members along the burgeoning 422 corridor. Ardent said it plans to open one new branch each year for the next several years.
