-

Thomas J. Patterson Jr., 62, of Limerick peacefully passed away after a long illness on March 31, 2017 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville.

Born in Philadelphia, Tom grew up in Glenolden, belonged to Our Lady of Fatima parish, graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School and St. Joseph’s University. After settling in Phoenixville, he became involved in coaching basketball, softball and baseball for Holy Family School and Phoenixville Youth Babe Ruth League. He took on the role of athletic director for Holy Family CYO for six years, as well as regional athletic director. He was on the finance committee for St. Ann Parish, and involved in Holy Family’s Home & School Association. When he wasn’t involved in coaching, you could probably find him on the golf course or following other local sports teams.

Prior to retiring, Tom was in the banking industry with several financial institutions for nearly 40 years. Afterwards he occupied his time working for Crown Trophy & Awards in Kimberton, Lazer Limousine or he could be found mixing up batches of boat drinks at ‘Tiki Tom’s’ tiki hut. Tom touched many people along his way through life and was always able to make people laugh and have fun. No matter where he went, he always saw someone he knew.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beth (Lukens); daughter Katie; son Thomas and his wife Cindy; one grandson, Jonathon; his mother Beatrice (Civera) Patterson; sister Laura, wife of Charles Baselice; brother Christopher, husband of Marie; nine nieces and nephews, an extensive extended family, and his much-loved dog, Nikki. He is predeceased by his father, Thomas.

The family will receive family and friends at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, on Wednesday, April 5 from 9 -11:45 a.m. Mass will follow at noon. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations in Tom’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Suite 405, 100 N. 20th St., Philadelphia, PA, 19103.
