‘Each one is the gender God made us to be’
A local school district is faced with a lawsuit filed by a complainant who felt his right to privacy was violated by a girl identifying herself as a transgender. Both parties think themselves to be right; but they can’t be.
How can it be decided who is right and who is wrong? A court will make a decision. That decision will be final. How do we know if the court will get it right? The right decision is the one made by the real final authority, the judge whom all of us will one day have to face. Who is that?
The Founders of our great nation gave us their opinion in the Declaration of Independence. They had a disagreement with their governing authority and said this: “Appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intention.” Earlier in their Declaration, they stated that people are “Endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.” In the Declaration’s first paragraph in giving their reasoning for taking the bold move of starting a new nation, they referenced “the laws of Nature and Nature’s God.” The earliest Americans left no doubt as to who is the final authority; Almighty God, the Creator. an’s laws do change over time, but God’s laws never change. At the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin said this: “God governs in the affairs of men.” An inscription on the United States Capitol building says this: “In God we trust.” Our pledge to the flag says we are “One nation under God.” This nation answers to God!
Our Founders considered God to be the One who determines right from wrong.
Our first president advised us this way: “It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.” I agree with him. What does God’s unchanging law say about genders? We read in Genesis 1:27: “God created man in His own image...male and female created He them.” That means all people from birth and throughout their lives are either male or female, the gender of birth. The psalmist said in Psalm 139:14: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.”
Each of us was wonderfully made in the gender of God’s choice, and God has yet to make a mistake. I am of the opinion that our public educators, and I was one of them for 30 years, do well when they help young people to accept who they are and mold them into the wonderful creation God made them to be. I firmly believe that guiding these precious souls into seeing themselves as the person God created them to be will enable them to develop their God-given abilities and talents to the fullest as the person they really are. Anything else is actually detrimental.
At birth, is it not true that doctors identify a new born as male or female? When we fill in forms at various places, are not the sex identifications M and F? I have yet to see a T. Why would public officials pretend that there is a T? Who is right and who is wrong? To me, I agree with our nation’s Founders: God, our Creator, is the Supreme Judge of the world and is always right. His ways are perfect.
