Dempsey leads OJR past Methacton

Anna Dempsey hit the nets for five goals Thursday night, leading the Owen J. Roberts girls lacrosse team to a 10-4 victory over Methacton in a repeat of last spring’s Pioneer Athletic Conference Championsh­ip game.

Frankie Carroll added a hat trick for OJR, which used five second-half goals to pull away from the Warriors after a 5-3 first half. Kelsey Kilgallon and Maddi Koury (two assists) had solo tallies while Mia Tornetta provided 10-save goaltendin­g.

For Methacton, Daria Lucchesi had two goals while Addy Borkowski and Jackie Cerchio added one apiece. Rachel O’Toole made 12 saves in goal. SPRING-FORD 15, BOYERTOWN 12 >> In a high-scoring PAC Liberty Division matchup, Camryn Jones’ six-goal showing led a Ram unit

that came on strong in the second half for the victory.

Cassie Marte chipped in with a hat trick to help Spring-Ford rally from a 7-6 halftime deficit. Liv Yeagle added a pair of goals while Jill Quigley, Mac Doyle, Anja Sweeney and Lauren Mensch each scored once and Camille Ward provided eight-save goaltendin­g.

Boyertown got four goals from Hailey Heimbach, a hat trick from Sydney Fox, two goals from Maddy Siejk and solo tallies from Hannah Wentzel, Kate Kada and Kylie Webb. Sarah Didget made eight saves in goal for the Bears. BERKS CATHOLIC 19, DANIEL BOONE 5 >> Kaitlyn LaManna hit the nets for seven goals, heading a trio of multiplego­al scorers that fueled the Saints’ Berks Conference win over the Blazers.

Ashley Bonetz and Makenzie Witzel (one assist) each scored twice for Boone. Cameron Nicoline chipped in with seven-save goaltendin­g.

Boys lacrosse

METHACTON 11, PHOENIXVIL­LE 7 >> The Warriors jumped out to a 7-2 lead at the half and cruised to a PAC win over the Phantoms.

Kyle Kacala notched four goals while Ryan O’Toole registered a hat trick to go along with an assist. Jack Pelligrano scored twice while Jaxson Peoples (assist) and Stanley Kolimago each registered a goal in the win.

Derek Bullotta led Phoenixvil­le with three goals and an assist while Danny Jackson and Drew LoPolito each scored twice. OWEN J. ROBERTS 18, NORRISTOWN 0 >> Logan Clefisch led a potent Wildcat offensive that got contributi­ons from 14 players in its PAC romp over the Eagles.

Behind Clefisch’s fourgoal showing, and a hat trick by Cooper Chamberlai­n, OJR got two goals from Ben Colt and solo tallies from Joe Tordone, Dean Ambrogi, Christian Brofft, Noah Calle, Nick DeCarlo, Andrew Dede, Mick Kilgallon, Sevion McLean and Doug Sbei. Austin Koury (two), Colin Gamble and Nick Milano added assists to the Wildcats’ production.

Boys volleyball

DANIEL BOONE 3, EXETER 0 >> Danny Dry’s solid statistica­l performanc­e led the Blazers to a sweep of their Berks Conference match with Exeter. Boone won by set scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 28-26.

Dry had 35 assists, three kills and two aces for Boone (3-0, 5-0). Kyle Stroble had 13 kills; Ian Rathgeb had 11 kills, six digs and five aces; and Jamie Burns had five kills.

Boys track

PAC-opening victory over the Trojans.

Erwin got his firsts in the 400 (52.76) and 800 (2:09,26) while Galbraith headed the discus (104-9) and javelin (143-10). Jacob Howard was the big winner for Pottstown, sweeping the jumps with his firsts in the high jump (5-4), long jump (21-1) and triple jump (40-9 ½).

Girls track

POPE JOHN PAUL II 94, POTTSTOWN 48 >> Bridget Plate was a three-event winner for the Golden Panthers as they kicked off their PAC schedule with a victory over the Trojans.

Plate swept the hurdles with her winning runs in the 300 intermedia­tes (48.23) and 100 highs (18.17), adding another first in the 400 (1:04.11). PJP also got a pair of wins from Julia Costello in the 1,600 (5:41.78) and 800 (2:34.98), with Bryonn Chimbinja giving Pottstown firsts in the 100 (13.31) and 200 (27.02).
