Gilbertsville: New Hanover AARP will meet on Monday, April 17, at the New Hanover Lutheran Church, Lutheran Road. Optional social time with a bring-your-own bag lunch (beverage and desserts provided) is at noon. Entertainment will be provided by The German Lukens Band. Meeting is at 12:30 p.m. All those age 50 and older are invited to attend.
Boyertown: Two free educational programs will be hosted by Boyertown Area Multi-Service, Inc., The Center at Spring Street, 200 West Spring St. “Stress Management - Bringing Your Life into Balance” by Beth Hiriak, Southeastern Home Health Services will be presented from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12. “Osteoporosis” by Dr. Daniel Maybee, Tri-County Chiropractic of Douglassville, will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18. Learn what osteoporosis is and what steps you may be able to take to prevent or slow its progress. Anyone 55 years of age or older is welcome.
Boyertown: A Caregiver Resource Group will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the Boyertown Community Library, 29 E. Philadelphia Ave. This beneficial seminar will provide information about resources and community connections to prepare for the future, including home safety tips, senior care payment options, and how to help those with dementia. This seminar is facilitated by senior care experts from Chestnut Knoll At Home, Gilbertsville, including Linda Detwiler, LPN, director of Chestnut Knoll At Home.
