Richard Albanus Rowland, 89, of Birdsboro
Richard Albanus Rowland, 89, husband of Jeanne G. (Wilson) Rowland, of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home.
Born on August 5, 1927 in Oaks, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Albanus Rowland and Marion (Litka) Llewelyn. He was a graduate of Phoenixville High School. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Army during the World War II. Mr. Rowland worked as a Foreman for PA Turnpike for 22 years before retiring on September 1, 1992. He and his wife were owners and operators for 21 years of Woodland Inn, West Vincent Twp.
He was a member of Nantmeal United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Lonesome Cabin Hunting Lodge in Centre County, PA from 1961- to present. He loved wood crafting, NASCAR and watching golf on television. He loved working around the house and yard.
Mr. Rowland is survived by Two Daughters: Judy E., wife of Ephriam Wade of Douglassville, PA, Joy E. Stamy of Birdsboro, PA; Son, Richard A. Rowland of Spring City, PA; Grandson, Daniel Wade; Four Granddaughters, Kelli Prizer, Candice Dolla, Stephanie Wade, Brandi Makros; 7 Great-Grandchildren, 7 and Brother, Edward Llewelyn of Pittsburgh, PA.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
