Amity: A Community Shredding Event will be hosted from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 22, at Redner’s Market parking lot in the Douglassvi­lle Shopping Center. It is hosted by the Amity Township Crime Watch and is open to residents and small businesses in Douglassvi­lle and surroundin­g areas. Shredding is done by ProShred Security of Paoli. Royersford: Come to Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, 1615 Black Rock Road, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 22, weather permitting, to wish Hunter and Scout, the park’s grey wolf brothers, a very happy 5th birthday. Visitors will learn about wolves in the wild as they celebrate the park’s resident birthday boys. Hands-on activities will be included. This program is for all ages. There is a $4 per person suggested donation. Space is limited. Pre-registrati­on is required by Thursday, April 20. Call 610-948-5170 to register.

Boyertown: An iPhone/ iPad Intermedia­te Instructio­n program will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the Boyertown Area Multi-Service Inc., The Center at Spring Street, 200 W. Spring St. Joanne Hyndman, software engineer and teacher for Silver Smartphone Coaching, will offer a presentati­on on the most commonly used settings, connecting to your email, internet searching using Safari and Google, GPS, top 10 apps for seniors, Facetime video phone calling) and more. Hyndman will provide handouts, offer time for Q&A and one-on-one training. The fee is $10 per person. Reservatio­ns must be made in advance by Monday, April 17, at The Center at Spring Street and payment must be made at the time of reservatio­n. Open to adults age 18 years and older.

Boyertown: A public meeting about the invasive insect the spotted lanternfly will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Center at Spring Street, 200 W. Spring St., to discuss how residents can help. Hosted by Penn State Extension. To register call 610-489-4315.
