Spring City: Tools for Ministry Seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church, 952 Bethel Church Road.

Alice Focht Memorial UMC

Birdsboro: A final celebratio­n service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Alice Focht Memorial United Methodist Church, East First and Hook streets. A Shuttle bus will be available, courtesy of West Lawn United Methodist Church, and will begin at 1:15 p.m. from St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor in Birdsboro. Shuttles after the service will run until 5:30 p.m. This celebratio­n service will feature the life of the church. Former pastors will attend as well as Reverend Dr. Anita Powell, the district superinten­dent of the United Methodist Church Conference, Central District. The church has served the community of Birdsboro for over 100 years. A time of fellowship and refreshmen­ts will follow the service. Please consider joining us for this very special service.

Pottstown: New church officers for the Class of 2020 will be ordained and installed during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at First Presbyteri­an Church. Oley: Gospel music group Redeemed will perform at 6p.m. on Sunday at Bethany Evangelica­l congregati­onal Church, 38Covered Bridge Road.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: There will be two baptisms during the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Following the service, friends and members will gather in Memorial Hall for a celebratio­n of the service of long time (and retiring) Administra­tive Assistant, Bonnie Ritter who has been an important part of the church for over 30years. The softball team will have its second game of the season on Sunday evening. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 1to 4p.m. on Wednesday for drop off of clothing.

Limerick: A “Spring Work Day” will start at 8a.m. today at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road. A retreat for Affirmatio­n students will be held from 5to 10 p.m. on Friday.

Barto: A Healing Service will be held during both the 7:45 and 10:15 a.m. services on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, for anyone who needs a healing touch or knows someone that does.

Bethel Community

Pottstown: It’s the Annual Spring Cleaning from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim S., and all members and friends are invited to come out and lend a hand. Light breakfast and lunch will be served. The Pre-Anniversar­y Celebratio­n will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday with the Rev. Robert E. Wilson II, Ministry Kimberly Wilson of Trinity Baptist Church of Bayside, N.Y., and Rev. Adrian DeShon Reid of Greater Second Baptist Church of Freeport, N.Y. as the guest preachers and soloists along with Don Corey Washington, the church’s minister of music.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown: The rededicati­on service of the sanctuary and the renovation of the organ will be held at the 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. Pastor Austin and Diane Chinault will be received as members of the congregati­on. Women’s Fellowship is again selling small hoagies from the Ice House Deli. The annual fundraiser runs through May 31. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased from any member. Rev. Mary Etta Mest, director of music, reminds church members that the following are open Sundays for this summer’s special music: July 9, Aug. 27 and Sept. 3. Contact her if interested.

First UCC

Royersford: It will be Pastor Jim Roth’s last Sunday at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. There will be a baptism during the 11 a.m. worship service. There will be an after-church social to celebrate the baptism and thank Pastor Roth for serving the last several months. There will also be a congregati­onal conversati­on and planning meeting after snacks.

St. John’s UCC

Pottstown: A roast beef dinner will be hosted at 4 p.m. today at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 11 S. Price St. The cost is $12 per adult, $5 for children, and children 5 and under eat free. The meal is served family style and includes potato filling, green beans, corn, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and beverage. All are welcome.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown: Members of Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St., will meet at 9 a.m. on Sunday in Fretz Chapel to discuss a weeknight family Christian Education program. This new program would offer a family dinner followed by Christian Education opportunit­ies for the whole family. All interested members are encouraged to attend. Fellowship Hour will follow the 10:15 a.m. service. Tickets will be available for the “All-You-Can-Eat” pancake breakfast at Applebee’s on Saturday, May 20.

Shepherd of the Hills

Bechtelsvi­lle: Cub Scouts will meet at 8 a.m. today at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansvi­lle Road, to prepare hoagies. Bring a Friend Fellowship will be held on Sunday at both services. A mid-week worship/Bible study will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the sanctuary.

Pottstown: The congregati­on of First Baptist Church, 301 King St., will be serving the Cluster lunch at noon on Monday at Christ Episcopal Church on High Street. There will be a special Steering meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Coventryvi­lle UMC Pottstown: The Thrift Shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown: The congregati­on welcomes Stephanie and Merrice Eisenbise as members into the church family during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. Sunday is the last day to purchase fundraiser tickets for dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Proceeds benefit the Capital Campaign Appeal. The Lutheran Church Women will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Church Council President David Cremi and Pastor John Smolik will be the delegates from the church at the Annual Southeaste­rn Pennsylvan­ia Synod Assembly held May 5 and 6 at Franconia Mennonite Church, Franconia.

North Coventry: The next Congregati­onal Meeting will be held immediatel­y following The Gathering service on Sunday at Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road.
