Local teen qualifies for 2017 CrossFit Games
A local teenager separated himself from a field of 2,000 athletes from around the world and qualified for the 2017 CrossFit Games in hopes of being named the ‘Fittest Teen on Earth.’
A local teenager recently qualified for the 2017 CrossFit Games in hopes of being named the ‘Fittest Teen on Earth.’
Nolan Pedrick, a 14-yearold from Pennsburg, Pennsylvania completed a series of qualifying events in his first year of eligibility. The Perkiomen School student claimed second overall out of 2,000 teenagers across the world at the CrossFit Open, the first step in qualifying where only 200 move on. Battling through a knee injury, Pedrick then finished among the top 20 at the Online Qualifier, securing himself a place in the CrossFit Games to be held the first week of August in Madison, Wisconsin.
Baseball
Limerick Panthers 10U baseball team won their first tournament of the year - Exeter Spring Breakout. The team went 4-0 out scoring their opponents 49-8. The Panthers pitching staff recorded 30 strikeouts over the four games.
Berks East Gymnastics
The Berks East Level 4 team competed at the Level 4 Eastern Pennsylvania State Championships hosted by Cumberland Gymnastics in Newville, PA this past weekend, April 22nd-23rd, 2016.
Individual Results:
GROUP 3A >> Lucy Cerimele placed second on beam; Maddie Miller placed sixth on floor. GROUP 3B >> Carson Gallagher placed fifth on vault, sixth on floor; Maya Smith placed sixth on vault.

Silvia’s Gymnastics Level 4 gymnasts competed in the Pennsylvania Eastern State Championships hosted by Cumberland Gymnastics on April 23, 2017.

AGE B >> Kylie Boyle is the State Champion on floor and AA, she placed second on bars, and third on beam; Samantha Pedrick placed second on vault and AA, third on bars, fifth on beam, and sixth on floor; Emma Ranaglia is the State Champion on beam, she placed third on floor, fourth AA, and sixth on bars; Madison Wilson placed second on beam and floor, and fifth AA; Jordan Boyd placed third on vault and fifth on floor; Ashley Bowman placed fourth on beam. AGEC>> Angelina Sacchetti is the State Champion on bars and floor, she placed second on beam and AA; Victoria Quintois placed second on beam, third on floor, and fourth AA; Belle Bentman placed third on vault. Silvia’s level 4 team placed second.
